About Suryacitta

My name is Suryacitta Malcolm Smith. I first started practising mindfulness meditation in 1991 and started teaching in 1996.

Though I practised within the Buddhist tradition and was ordained into the Western Buddhist Order in 1999, I teach in a secular way unless requested otherwise.

I teach both mindfulness and compassion meditation in Leicester and Loughborough and run workshops and retreats on mindfulness in the UK and Europe.

I also teach in companies, schools and the NHS as well as leading courses and retreats for the public

I have written a book called Happiness and How it Happens - Finding contentment through mindfulness published by Ivy Press October 2011. I have appeared several times on Radio Leicester talking about mindfulness and  happiness and had various articles published in local press.
